Pupil Leaders and Smart School Council

At Waterwells Primary Academy, pupil leadership plays a central role in fostering a collaborative, caring, and active school community. Our Primary Leadership (PL) roles empower pupils to take on meaningful responsibilities and develop lifelong leadership skills. Through the Smart School Council and House Captains, student leaders serve as the voice of their peers, guiding school-wide initiatives and encouraging healthy house spirit. Young leaders also support physical well-being and active lifestyles as Sports Captains, champion sustainability through the Eco Committee, and nurture emotional wellness and positive relationships across the school as Wellbeing Ambassadors and Restorative Stars. In addition, our Reading Buddies provide invaluable peer support to boost literacy confidence and foster a love of reading. Together, these leadership opportunities inspire pupils to model positive values, make a meaningful impact, and actively shape our school environment.
